Turin and Twenty

Over the weekend the girls and I had the amazing opportunity to visit the city of Turin. It was a beautiful spring day as we got to walk around and explore the new area. It was a relaxing day full of sightseeing, food, gelato, naps and of course a ton of pictures!

After our amazing trip to Torino, it was my BIRTHDAY!!! I finally turned twenty years old in Italy! I mean how many people can say they celebrated their birthday in the beautiful country of Italy!!! The whole entire day was absolutely perfect and by far one of the best birthdays I have had in a really long time!!

The day started off with Megan, Tina, Christine and I all going on a walk to the most amazing breakfast place ever! The bagel factory in Milan is literally heaven and my new favorite spot!! As we took our order to go we decided to sit in the park and enjoy the sun while it was out. It was 70 degrees and sunny and one of the many perfects days so far!

After a beautiful day in the park we all heading to Mexicali for some fine mexican dinning and of course delicious margaritas!! Dinner was amazing and so were the margaritas but the best part was when the lights in the whole restaurant went off and loud music started playing. Immediately the waiter brought out a cake with a sparkler and put a sombrero on my head! The girls and I could not stop laughing at the scene that was happening before us! It was so much fun and so thoughtful of the girl to do that for my birthday! I have made such amazing friends here and I thank God everyday for bringing them into my life. It was such an awesome birthday and one I will remember for years to come!!

St. Patricks Day in Italy

St. Patricks Day is celebrated around the world with parades, festivals, shamrocks and a whole lot of green! It has become a very popular holiday especially in New York with the annual parade that is held every year on March 17. Being Irish myself, I absolutely love celebrating this holiday and really embracing my Irish heritage. Usually every year we head down to New York City to see the parade, but this year I was not able to go since I am studying here in Italy. I was pretty upset that I couldn't go to the city this year, but we decided to make the best of it and celebrate St. Paddy's day here in Milano and it was just as fun!!

Natalie found a small Irish pub here in Milan that we all decided would be a fun way to spend the holiday. The pub was called Murphy's Law and their logo is "More Irish than the Irish themselves." So of course we had to check it out, and it wound up being so much fun! It was a night full of Irish food, music, friends and of course BEER! The girls and I hung out at the bar talking and laughing with each other and people and just having a good time!

Overall St. Paddy's day in Milan was a success!! To anyone who will celebrate this holiday in Milan GO TO MURPHY'S LAW, you will have a great night just like we did! Happy St. Patricks day everyone!!

Genoa

Over the weekend the girls and I traveled to Genoa Italy and spent the day sightseeing and relaxing. Genoa is about two hours, by train, from Milan so we left early in the morning to try and get the full day! Genoa was located right on the coast and even though the day was a little cloudy, it was still one of the most beautiful cities that we have been to so far in Italy. From the color of all the houses and buildings, to the small narrow streets and finally the amazing view of the Mediterranean Sea, Genoa is just a sight to be seen!

After wandering the streets we decided to take a trip to see the "almost top" of Genoa, and it was absolutely beautiful! We spent the majority of the day looking out at the view and of course taking oh so many pictures!

After we finished our photo-shoot, we headed back down to the streets to grab a quick bit to eat. We ended up at a small restaurant and had one of the best meals ever! I ended up ordering the homemade pesto pasta (which was unbelievable) a chocolate desert and of course a glass of wine!

After our meal we decided to walk around and just explore the stores and streets. We ended up at the Piazza De Ferrari, which is one of the main squares of Genoa. The Cathedral was located here and of course it was amazing. I decided to go in a say a prayer for my Great Aunt that just passed away this month. I was upset that I was unable to be home when she passed but I wanted to say a prayer for her that she is okay and is reunited with my uncle who died a few years ago. Rest in Peace Aunt Mary, I love you and my prayers a with you.

We soon left the Duomo and headed for the coast. Along the way we spotted the cutest little buggy EVER! I have always wanted a beetle when I was little so of course we had to take a picture!

Once we were done taking pictures with the buggy we caught a cab and headed for the coast! The coast was beautiful and we took a million photos along the rocks and the shore. The water was so blue and it was just so relaxing sitting on the rocks looking out to the sea.

Overall Genoa was amazing and we all had such a good day wandering the streets and taking so many pictures! Traveling with these girls is always so fun and I am so lucky to have met such great friends! I hope to be back Genoa…until then arrivederci!!

#MilanFashionWeek

In honor of fashion week coming to an end soon I wanted to share with everyone my fabulous time during the Milan Fashion Week of 2015! The week first started with an amazing New Generation Fashion Show as well as an after party for the winner! The girls and I were so lucky to be able to get an invite to this exclusive party such last minute! The party was amazing as we met the designer and saw  his incredible collection that he presented on the run way. Not only did we meet the winner but Chiara Ferragni (aka The Blonde Salad) was at the party as well! It was a crazy amazing experience to get to see and meet all these people involved in the fashion world!

As the week went on were were able to attend more fashion events including one where we were able to walk in and see the designers new collection! It was very cool seeing the new designs of clothes, accessories and of course SHOES!!!

What better way to end fashion week then to go to the famous Armani PrivĂ©! This club was incredible and by far one of the best nights here in Milano! The atmosphere was awesome the DJ was on point and of course amazing friends that truly made the night so much fun!!

Overall my first fashion week experience was unforgettable! Fashion has been a passion of mine for a very long time and I am so blessed to have been given this amazing opportunity to study at IED and experience this amazing time in Italy! I cannot wait until the next time I will be able to come back to Milan and be apart of Fashion Week again!!
