My Time in Paris

Last week the girls and I traveled to one of the most amazing places I have ever been to.  Paris is one of the most beautiful cities, filled with elegance and class. As soon as we booked the trip I could not contain my excitement as traveling to this city has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. The week started in complete chaos as we all were in a rush trying to make it to the airport. We were all full of stress and anxiety as we were unsure if we would make it to the flight. But once we were made it to our seats on the plane the nerves went away and the excitement began.

Once we landed we made our way to our apartment and went out to get a quick bite to eat. We ended up at a local restaurant that was absolutely AMAZING. The food was so delicious! We could not believe we had already found the best restaurant on the first night in Paris!

The next morning we all woke up bright and early to start our first day off with a walking tour of the city. It was a cold morning as we made our way to the famous opera house but luckily we were able to spot a Starbucks for a good cup of coffee. For those of you who don't know, here in Italy, there is no Starbucks ANYWHERE. It is really hard to get a good size coffee so when we spotted it we immediately made the trip over there.

After our Starbucks trip the tour began at the famous opera house. It was amazing seeing all the intricate designs on the building but also learning the history behind the building as well. We toured the city for another hour, seeing all the stores and sights really learning and getting a good vibe of what Paris has to offer.

After the beautiful walking tour Tina and Carli had decided to go to Disneyland. After much debating I finally decided to join them…and it was the greatest decision ever!! Since I have never really been to a Walt Disney theme park I thought, "how cool would it be for my first experience in Disney to be in Paris!"Disneyland was absolutely amazing and as soon as we got there we all took off in sprints! We were just running to see everything I felt like a kid again and it was magical. We had a wonderful day full seeing all the different parts, watching the parade and of course the final show with a ton of fireworks! In that moment I remember thinking that I was genuinely happy and so glad to have experienced this with some great friends!

After our long and adventurous day at Disneyland we made our way back to the apartment to meet up with the other girl. At almost ten thirty at night we decided that seeing the Eiffel Tower was a must! So we all grabbed some blankets and gloves and were out the door! As usual we ended up getting lost, but as soon as we saw it we all were screaming and running to get there. We were all full of excitement seeing this beautiful tower in person for the first time was breathtaking and it was a moment that I will never forget. After we all watched it twinkling I thought to myself at I have been so blessed to have been given this opportunity to see the world and travel with these girls who have become such close friends. To anyone who is thinking of traveling…. GO TO PARIS!!! This is an absolute must! Seeing the Eiffel Tower for the first time was one of the best moments in my life and will definitely be a difficult one to top!

The next morning we decided to take a little trip to visit the Palace of Versailles! I remember learning about this back in high school but actually seeing it in person was incredible! As we walked around touring the grounds it was never ending. Each room was more elaborate, more complex and just so beautiful! To see all the rooms and learn about the history was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting France!

After we saw the inside of the palace, we heading out back to see the famous garden… and it was stunning! I was in awe at how grand it was. Everywhere you looked the gardens went on for miles with  fountains, plants, flowers and trees it was just incredible! We all just felt relaxed as we just saw on the stairs enjoying this once in a life time moment!

After we spent the day at the tower it was time to see the Eiffel Tower one more time before heading back to Milan! When we arrived at the Eiffel Tower, it was just as marvelous as it was the night before! I honestly don't think there will ever be a time when it doesn't amaze me. We spent the rest of the day there just enjoying the view and of course taking a bunch of pictures!

Overall Paris was an awesome and that I feel so lucky to have been able to experience it with some amazing girls! With all the chaos of traveling, the freezing cold weather and the extreme amount of money I spent (Sorry Dad) I will never regret the time I spent there. It was everything I expected it to be and more! I will definitely be back! See you soon Paris!!

Carnevale di Venezia!

Yesterday was an amazing day as Megan and I traveled to Venice for the annual festival! The Carnival of Venice is held every year ending with the Christian celebration of Lent. We were so fortunate to see all the intricate costumes, the beauty of Venice and of course we got to see all of our friends who are studying abroad in Florence! Our day started super early as we woke up at 5:15 to get ready and catch our 7 am train to Santa Lucia in Venice. After a crazy morning of quickly getting ready, running late, and catching the tram to the train, we finally made it with moments to spare.

Three hours later we finally we made it to the beautiful Venice! Of course before we did anything else we took a few quick pics on the Grand Canal!

After many pictures, we bought our ferry tickets to the festival that is held in San Marco! But being as it was a cloudy day already, the ferry ride was FREEZING! It was so windy as we were on the water that me and Megan were shivering and instantly regretted not wearing warmer outfits. But even as our hands were turning numb we still took some pictures of the amazing scenery! I mean how could we not!

After arriving at the carnival we decided to explore as we waited for our other friends to arrive from Florence. I was in amazement at all the unbelievable costumes. The details were incredible! I mean every stitch and every bead was put and placed to perfection!

Our friends had arrived a little while later and after catching up with and wandering the streets of Venice we decided it was time to ride a gondola! I mean how can you go to Venice and not ride one! So we each split up into groups of four got on the gondolas and ventured out into the water! It was absolutely stunning. All of the buildings and homes that sat on the canal was a sight to been seen! It was fun and relaxing and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who travels to Venice!

After the gondola ride, we all decided that it was time to warm up and eat! So we all headed to a quaint little restaurant for some dinner and coffee. We stayed there and chatted for a few more hours until it was time for Megan and I to start heading back to the train. Overall it was such an amazing day and definitely a trip for the books! Until next time Venice, arrivederci!
