When In Rome

     On Saturday the girls and I were up early for our day trip to visit the capital city of Italy! When we arrived in Rome, Andrea thought it would be a good idea to walk around for a bit and grab lunch before we did a "hop on hop off" bus tour. As we were walking we were able to see some famous sights such as the Spanish Steps, The Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. The Spanish Steps were beautiful with the colorful flowers that cascaded down the steps. Unfortunately, the Trevi Fountain was under construction so there was no water in it and there was a huge glass dome that surrounded it. But off to the side was a little section of water where you could still throw a coin in a make a wish. Which obviously we all did! After the Trevi Fountain we headed to the Pantheon where we spent the afternoon eating lunch and of course getting gelato!!

     After we got lunch we got on our tour bus where we got to see the rest of the famous attractions in Rome! It was almost 85 degrees that day so being on the bus was difficult since we were all sweating and burring up from the hot sun, but seeing all the sights made it totally worth it!

     The Last stop on our bus tour was the famous Roman Colosseum. As we drove around the Colosseum you could really see all the detailing of the structure. It was amazing how big it was and to think about all the history of this Colosseum. Part of the building was under restoration, and you could see how some sides of this Colosseum were barely hanging on. Unfortunately we were unable to go into it as the line was crazy long, but just being there was worth it!!

     Of course at the end of the day we all pretty much felt like we were Lizzy McGuire! It was such an awesome day full of sights, singing, and laughs.  Rome was amazing and being able to experience this with people who are just as obsessed with Lizzy McGuire as I am just made it all the better!! So thank you to Andrea for bringing us to this Beautiful City!! Until next time, Ciao Rome!!
